The tool scans audio for sections below your chosen dB threshold. Sections quieter than the threshold and longer than the minimum duration are removed.
-40 dB is a good starting point. Use -30 dB for aggressive removal, or -50 dB to only remove complete silence.
That depends on your settings. Set a longer minimum silence duration (1-2 seconds) to keep natural speech pauses while removing longer dead air.
