Frequently asked questions

What color space is used for mixing?+
The tool mixes colors in the RGB color space by default, interpolating each channel between the two input colors based on the ratio you set.
Can I adjust the ratio between the two colors?+
Yes. A slider lets you control the blend from 0% to 100%. At 50% you get an equal mix; sliding toward either end gives more weight to that color.
Is the mixing done locally?+
Yes. All color mixing calculations run in your browser. No data is sent to any server at any point.
Why does mixing red and blue not give me purple like paint?+
Digital colors use additive RGB mixing, which differs from subtractive paint mixing. Red and blue in RGB produce a magenta-purple, while paint mixing yields a deeper violet due to different physics.
Can I mix more than two colors?+
The tool mixes two colors at a time. To mix three or more, use the result of the first mix as an input for a second round of mixing.
