Frequently asked questions

What metadata can I view?+
The viewer shows camera make and model, exposure settings (ISO, aperture, shutter speed), focal length, GPS coordinates, date taken, software used, and all standard EXIF/IPTC fields.
Do all images contain EXIF data?+
Not always. JPEG and TIFF files from cameras typically contain rich EXIF data. PNG and WebP files rarely include it. Screenshots and edited images often have metadata stripped.
Can I see where a photo was taken on a map?+
Yes. When GPS coordinates are present in the EXIF data, the viewer displays the location so you can see exactly where the photo was taken.
Can I remove metadata from my images?+
The viewer is read-only and shows metadata without altering your file. To strip metadata, use the image compressor or converter tools which can optionally remove EXIF data on export.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?+
No. EXIF parsing runs entirely in your browser. Your photos never leave your device and no data is transmitted.
