How it works

1

Upload

Add one or more audio files with inconsistent volume levels.

2

Normalize

Choose a target loudness level (e.g., -14 LUFS) and the tool adjusts each file's volume.

3

Download

Save the normalized files. All processing happens locally in your browser — audio never leaves your device.

Frequently asked questions

What does audio normalization do?+
Normalization adjusts the overall volume of an audio file so that its peak or average loudness reaches a target level. It makes quiet recordings louder and prevents loud ones from clipping.
What is LUFS and what target should I use?+
LUFS measures perceived loudness. Streaming platforms recommend -14 LUFS for music and -16 LUFS for podcasts. The tool defaults to -14 LUFS, which works well for most content.
Does normalization reduce audio quality?+
Normalization applies a uniform gain change across the entire file, which is a minimal transformation. Quality loss is negligible, and lossless formats like WAV remain fully intact.
Can I normalize a batch of files at once?+
Yes. Add multiple files and they are all normalized to the same target loudness. This is useful for making a playlist or podcast series sound consistent.
Is my audio processed on a server?+
No. All normalization runs in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files stay on your device and are never uploaded anywhere.
